The people

Three collectors. One shared obsession.

Icons is run by people who collect the same things our customers do — and who handle every piece as if it were going into their own collection.

Founder & President

Jeff Castillo

A Chicago native and lifelong film fan, Jeff's passion for movie memorabilia began with Star Wars. What started as collecting grew into more than 20 years of buying, selling and preserving original film and television assets.

As the founder of Icons of Pop Culture, Jeff oversees the company's Florida and Kentucky operations and remains involved in nearly every part of the business. From building relationships with studios and onboarding new acquisitions to researching assets and writing product descriptions, Jeff brings decades of industry knowledge to every collection that comes through Icons.

Tammy Castillo

A Kentucky native, Tammy is a longtime fan of Friends and The Big Bang Theory — although her most prized possession may actually be Buddy, her Shih Tzu.

Tammy is responsible for much of the photography and image editing behind Icons of Pop Culture, helping transform each incoming collection into a polished catalog ready for collectors around the world. Her attention to detail helps ensure every piece is photographed clearly and presented at its best.

Director of Operations & Marketing

Austin Pruett

Representing the next generation of Icons of Pop Culture, Austin oversees the company's Oklahoma operations. His fascination with film memorabilia began early, becoming a prop collector at just 13 years old. His specialty is Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a film that has remained at the center of his collecting interests ever since.

Today, Austin works across many sides of Icons, including inventory management, product photography, marketing, social media, industry outreach and the day-to-day coordination of incoming film and television assets. He also helps develop the systems and technology behind Icons as the company continues to expand its studio relationships, catalog and collector audience.

Jeff & Tammy's story

Four decades of preserving screen history.

  1. The mid-1980s

Conventions, dealers and a growing collection.

Our journey began in the mid-1980s, attending conventions, building relationships with dealers and fellow collectors, and growing our personal collection of movie posters, artwork and entertainment memorabilia.

  2. 1987

Our first original props and costumes.

In 1987, we were introduced to the world of original film and television props and costumes, and from that moment forward, our passion for preserving pieces of screen history only grew.

  3. The collection

The largest private Back to the Future collection.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of buying, selling and collecting some of the most recognizable pieces of film history. Along the way, we assembled what became the largest private collection of original props and costumes from the Back to the Future franchise.

  4. ScreenUsed

    Fifteen years connecting collectors.

That passion eventually led us to co-found ScreenUsed with a fellow collector, where we spent 15 years helping connect collectors with original pieces of film and television history.

  5. Today

    Icons of Pop Culture.

Today, that journey continues through Icons of Pop Culture, bringing decades of experience together with a new generation and a growing presence across Oklahoma, Kentucky and Florida.
